TikTok is introducing a new “Friends” tab in the app’s bottom menu, which will replace the “Discover” tab. According to the company, the new tab will be available to more people in the coming weeks and will allow platform users to find content from people they’ve connected with. TikTok did not elaborate on the rollout or say whether it will eventually be available to all users.
“As we continue to celebrate community and creativity, we’re bringing a Friends Tab to more people in the coming weeks,” the company said in a tweet. “This will allow you to easily find and enjoy content from people you’re connected with, so you can choose even more ways to be entertained on TikTok.”
When users click on the Friends tab, they will see a banner that says “watch your friends’ videos,” according to a screenshot TikTok posted alongside the tweet. If you’ve connected with your friends on the app, their content will appear on the page. If you haven’t already, TikTok will suggest that you connect with friends through your contacts or Facebook friends.
